This product does not have the flowers at the time of shipping. Afterward, the plant will bloom and that will be of yellow colored flower.Wedelia is a genus of flowering plants in the aster family, Asteraceae. It is a mat forming evergreen perennial herb with rounded stems.

Leaves are fleshy, usually 2 to 4 inches long and 1 to 5 inches wide, with irregularly toothed margins. Flowers are solitary, one inch in diameter and yellow-orange in color.New plants arise from nodes that root at the soil surface. Seed production is low and generally does not reproduce prolifically via seed. However, wedelia is able to escape from gardens to nearby areas via runners and fragmentation.

Sunlight

  • Morning sunlight of 3 - 6 hours a day is ideal for flowering and plant grow well in bright light for rest of the day.
  • Soil
  • The soil should be well drained, fertile and rich in organic content for growing Wedelia plant.
  • Watering
  • Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture.
  • Apply 3 cup(approx.150ml) of water when the top soil (1-2 inch) in the pot feels dry to touch.
  • Do not overwater the plant.

    How to propagate Wedelia?

    Wedelia can be propagated through seed and cutting. Generally the success rate of propagation of Wedelia through cuttings.
    1. To propagate take pencil size cutting of well mature stem to a length of 16-18 cm and remove any flowers leaves from it.
    2. Then dip bottom of the cutting in rooting hormone, and place the 3/4 portion cutting into a small container with well-draining soil and water the cuttings.
    3. Rooting will start within 1-2 week.

    How to transplant Wedelia?

    1. Choose a slightly larger pot. If you’re repotting your plant into a new pot, choose a pot that is 1 to 2 inches larger in diameter and 1 to 2 inches deeper than the plant’s current pot.
    2. Choose a pot with drainage holes. When you’re selecting a new pot, make sure it has drainage holes to allow excess water to drain.
    3. Cover the drainage holes. Cover the drainage holes with something that will allow water to pass through, like paper towel or small-sized stone.
    5. Put a few inches of soil in the new pot. You’ll need a base of soil under the plant so the roots have something to grow into. Don’t overfill the pot.
    6. Remove the plant from its current pot without disturbing the root ball.
    7. Place plant in new pot. As you place the plant into its new pot, center it by looking down on it from above and making sure it’s not closer to any one side of the pot than the others.
    9. Fill the pot with soil. Once you’ve placed the plant in the new pot, you’ll want to put soil into the pot around the rootball. Don’t overfill the pot - the soil line should be about 1” below the top of the pot.
    10. Water the plant. Once your plant is in its new pot and you’ve filled the pot with soil, water the plant. 

    How to plant Wedelia?

    1. To plant Wedelia in pot, choose a pot having of 5-inch upper diameter and drainage holes.
    2. Fill the 1/3 pot with well-drained soil rich in organic content and place the plant in the center of the pot.
    3. Fill the remaining pot with same soil.
    4. Keep the plant in indirect bright light location for 2-3 days and then gradually move to a location that receives 4-6 hours of direct sunlight. If you are planting purchased plant directly in ground follow below procedure.
    1. Keep the plant in indirect bright light for 3-4 days and gradually move to a location receiving direct sunlight for 4-6 hours a day.
    2. Dig a pit twice the size of the bag/pot the current plant is in.
    3. Fill the 1/3 of pit with soil rich in organic content, place the plant in the center and fill the pit with same soil.
    4. Apply water General caring tips Plant should get 4-6 hours of sunlight a day. Water the plant when surface soil (1-2 inches) feels dry to touch. Apply any organic fertilizer during the main growing season(January-June).
