Historically, these plants have been used for centuries in traditional medicine and as sources of timber, showcasing their versatility and importance in human culture.

From an environmental perspective, winter plants contribute significantly to ecosystem health. They provide shelter and food for wildlife during the harsh winter months, supporting biodiversity.
