Description

Perennial shrub or tree, 2.5 to 10 m tall. Branches spreading, forming a dense flat or rounded crown with dark to black colored stems. Leaves are bipinnate long, Peduncles clustered at nodes of leafy and. Pods straight or slightly curved. Seeds deep blackish-brown, smooth, sub-circular, compressed.

It is characterized by glabrous pods and twigs, or nearly so, while it has strongly constricted white-grey hairy pods. Acacia is often used in topical treatments to help wounds heal. It is also used to remove toxins from the body and as a prebiotic to promote good bacteria in the intestine. Acacia is applied to the skin inside the mouth for plaque and gum inflammation.
