What does the Non-Plants collection include?
This is a broad collection of over 4,600 non-plant gardening items, covering pots and planters, tools, seeds, soil and fertilizers, plant care products, and garden accessories. It's everything you need to set up and maintain a garden besides the plants themselves.
I'm setting up a new garden. What essentials should I buy first?
Start with a few good pots with drainage, quality potting soil, a basic tool set like a trowel and pruner, and a general-purpose fertilizer. These basics let you plant and maintain almost anything before you add specialized items.
How do I choose the right pot size for my plants?
Pick a pot 2-3 inches wider than the plant's current root ball, and always ensure it has drainage holes. Small plants suit tabletop pots, while shrubs and large foliage need deeper, heavier planters for stability.
Which soil or potting mix should I choose?
For most container plants, a well-draining potting mix enriched with compost or cocopeat works well; succulents and cacti need a grittier, faster-draining blend. Match the mix to the plant type, as the right soil prevents both waterlogging and drying out.
What tools does a beginner gardener really need?
A trowel, hand fork, pruning shears, a watering can, and a pair of garden gloves cover most everyday tasks. As your garden grows you can add specialized tools, but this basic kit handles planting, trimming, and watering.
What kinds of fertilizers are available in this collection?
You'll find organic options like vermicompost, cow-dung manure, and bone meal, along with chemical NPK and specialty bloom or growth boosters. Choose organic for slow, soil-friendly feeding or NPK for quick, targeted nutrition.
Do you have products to control pests and diseases?
Yes, the collection includes neem-based sprays, organic pesticides, fungicides, and other plant-protection products. For most home gardens, neem oil is a safe, versatile first choice against common pests.
Which items suit a small balcony garden?
Lightweight pots, railing planters, grow bags, a compact tool set, and a small watering can work well in tight balcony spaces. Vertical planters and hanging pots help you grow more without using floor area.
Are these products suitable for gifting?
Yes, decorative planters, tool kits, seed collections, and self-watering pots make practical gifts for gardening enthusiasts. A combined gift set of pot, soil, and seeds is an easy all-in-one present for beginners.
What's the difference between grow bags and ceramic pots?
Grow bags are lightweight, breathable, and affordable, ideal for vegetables and temporary planting, while ceramic and decorative pots are heavier and better for permanent display. Choose grow bags for the terrace kitchen garden and decorative pots for indoor styling.
How are these items packaged and delivered?
Non-plant items like tools, pots, and packaged soil are shipped in protective packaging suited to their weight and fragility. Ceramic pots are cushioned against breakage, though it's worth inspecting them on arrival before use.
Do you sell seeds in this collection, and how do I store them?
Yes, a range of flower, vegetable, and herb seeds is included. Store unused seeds in a cool, dry, airtight container away from sunlight to keep them viable for the next sowing season.
Which self-care products help keep plants healthy?
Items like liquid plant food, rooting hormone, growth boosters, and moisture meters help plants thrive. These support healthy roots and steady growth, especially useful for container gardens where nutrients deplete faster.
Can I buy combo kits instead of individual items?
Yes, combo kits bundling pots, soil, tools, or fertilizers together offer better value and convenience than buying separately. They are especially handy for beginners who want a ready-to-start setup without picking each item.
Is there a seasonal aspect to buying these garden supplies?
Some items are seasonal, like sowing seeds before the monsoon or stocking fertilizer at the start of the growing season. Tools, pots, and soil, however, are useful year-round and can be bought whenever you're expanding your garden.
