Description

A medicinal plant is astringent, diuretic and vermifuge.

It is an annual or biennial herb. It grows on erect stems to a height of 1.5 to 3 ft tall. Leaves are elliptic-ovate to elliptic-lanceolate.

Inflorescences are 6 flowered verticillasters in racemes or panicles, with distinctly small flowers, that comes in a wide variety of colors: reddish, purplish, purple, blue-purple, to blue, and rarely white. Flowers occur all year round. Fruiting calyx about 7 mm long, longitudinally ribbed and hairy with both glandular and non-glandular hai Nutlets filling the seeds. Cotyledons folded, cordate at the base and much wider than the radicle.
