Velvet Pink Banana is an interesting dwarf species of banana, growing only 4-6 ft tall. It bears somewhat waxy leaves which are quite large and can grow to 1-2 ft long. The flowers are pink to orange.

The most ornamental part of the plant is its fruits, dwarf bananas, which are a bright, velvety pink and last for months at a time. Fruits are covered with thin hai They are edible and quite sweet, but also full of seeds. This is one of the few bananas that will actually flower and fruit in the house.
