Nantes carrots are small to medium in size, averaging 15-20 centimeters in length and 2-5 centimeters in diameter and are cylindrical in shape with blunt, rounded ends on both the stem and non-stem end. Nantes carrots are crunchy and tender with a mild sweet taste.

  • How to Sow Carrot Nantes Seeds Select a container having up to 7 inch diameter
  • Fill the container with well-drained soil
  • Moisten the surface of the soil with water spray
  • Make a hole of 1 inch deep and put 1-2 seeds in each hole and cover the hole with fine layer of the soil
  • Cover the seed container with a transparent plastic paper
  • Place the seed tray in indirect bright light
  • Remove plastic wrapping once seeds start to germinate

The best time of day to lift carrots is in the late afternoon or early evening when sugar in the roots is concentrated.
