Plantscaping (2/4) - Large plants that are great for the workplace

In the first part of this series, we covered the rise of plantscaping among corporate offices and how top co-working spaces are adopting this concept in designing the modern workplace. In this article, we will focus on large indoor plants that fit well into the workplace.

Here are five large plants (3-6 ft.) that anchor a workplace and provide a natural, evergreen presence to brighten every corner of the office: -

1. Bird of Paradise

A tropical evergreen that features colorful flowers reminiscent of tropical birds, the Bird of Paradise is sure to attract the attention of every employee and guest. Its long, green leaves are similar to the Banana plant and grows to 6-8 ft. height indoors

2. Areca Palm

Also known as the yellow butterfly palm and the golden cane palm, the Areca Palm has long, graceful, feather-shaped, yellow-green leaves. A  Ms. Reliable in the plant world, the Areca Palm is one of the most popular indoor plants and remarkably easy to maintain.

3. Raphis Palm

The Raphis Palm or the lady palm has a strikingly beautiful appearance due to its fan-shaped leaves. It grows wonderfully in areas with low sunlight and is one of the best plants for removing indoor air toxins.

4. Ficus Lyrata

Referred to as the fiddle leaf fig, the Ficus Lyrata consists of a single trunk and a dense canopy of spherical or hemispherical shape enveloping the plant. Its structure makes it a great focal point within hallways and offices and acts as a natural air purifier.

5. Pichodia Palm

The Pichodia Palm is so named for its large, circular, shiny and closely pleated leaves. This tropical plant‚ leafy green foliage makes it an excellent choice for decoration purposes.
