Abutilon persicum is a large erect shrub, growing up to 1?, 2 m high.
The stem yields a long and silky fibre which can be used to make rope

Abutilon theophrasti is an annual plant in the family Malvaceae, native to southern Asia. Its specific epithet theophrasti commemorates the ancient Greek botanist-philosopher Theophrastus. Plants are occasionally found growing wild in the Western Ghats. They are rarely cultivated.

- This relative of the Ladys finger can be planted in gardens as well.- Plants can be grown from seed.- Requores good drainage and average soils.- Can be grown in pots as well.
