Hymenocallis caribaea is a bulb-forming perennial. Each bulb will produce multiple shoots, each with strap-shaped leaves that arch up to 2 feet (60 cm) in length. White flowers emerge from the ends of these leaves. Tepals are narrowly linear, up to 10 cm long, usually drooping at flowering time.

Planting and care

  • Water a plant when the soil feels dry to touch. Water thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering for the winter & rainy season.
  • Try to water the plants in the morning around 8-10am.

    To grow Spider lily plant through bulb consider the following points
    1. Use a pot having 7-10 inch upper diameter and drainage holes.
    2. Fill the pot with well drained soil. To sow bulb make a hole about 2-3 inch in soil, place bulb in it, cover with soil and apply water.
    3. Maintain the moisture in soil by applying water if soil in pot (1-2 inch) feels dry to touch.
