Herbs and seeds to naturally boost your immunity

There are various peaks for a healthy diet and exercise, and over some time we tend to get sluggish following the regime. So, here are some easily available natural ingredients known to add to your food for boosting immunity. 

According to WHO, more than 80% of the world’s population uses herbal medicines for primary health care, especially across Europe and South Asia.

Most of the herbs and seeds have anti-inflammatory properties, they are excellent to build up the body’s natural immunity. 

Since ages, herbs and seeds are well known for their medicinal properties, with over hundreds of medicinal plants and herbs indigenous to India we are pioneer in extensively using them in traditional medicine.

Here is a list of herbs and seeds that can help improve immunity:

Tulsi or Basil

 3-4 leaves every day can help you fight the number of infections. You can grow basil in your home and add a magnificent herb to your daily life.

Basil is rich in antioxidants, flavanol, chlorophyll, vitamins, and minerals, as well as anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties and reduces stress and plasma glucose levels. 

Adarak or ginger

 Adrak remains one of the essential in every Indian kitchen, from dark wali chai to delicious biryani-its spicy flavor adds up to make dishes amazing.

Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and anti-cancer properties. It's extensively used for curing colds and coughs, nausea, asthma, travel sickness, morning sickness, arthritis, gastrointestinal complaints.

Drinking ginger tea, or crushing ginger into lemon tea can help you fall into a healthy routine.

Methi or Fenugreek seeds

 We all know the wonderful benefits of methi when it comes to hair problems. This herb is part of ancient medicine which acts as a natural antioxidant and strengthens the immune system.

Methi leaves are popular for delicious parathas, curry, and the seeds are mostly used in Indian curry tadka and tangy pickle masala.  It's also very popular for artificial flavoring of maple syrup or in the production of steroids. 

Chia seeds

 

Widely used in smoothies and ice creams, chia seeds are popular for their amazing benefits.

Loaded with antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, chia seeds help reduce inflammation, which helps enhance body immunity.

Using chia seeds in sweet dishes and drinking chia seed water can help you with an excellent metabolism.

Lehsun or Garlic

 ever since our childhood garlic is used in food like tradition. Loaded with anti-oxidant properties, garlic helps in curing blood pressure and known for fighting stress.

It also helps to improve thiamine (vitamin B1) absorption in the body and prevents beriberi. 

Haldi or Turmeric

The most favorite of all the chefs, beauticians, and healthcare experts. Turmeric has excellent medicinal properties and contains a bioactive compound known as curcumin.

Popular in cooking dishes and turmeric kadha, its highly recommended for cuts, wounds, and healing faster. It acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and tremendously boosts immunity. 

Giloy

When it comes to natural immunity boosters or remedy, Giloy is magical. Giloy is a multifaceted herb used in Ayurvedic medicines.

It helps to remove toxins from the body, purifies the blood and fights disease-causing bacteria. Giloy contains anti-oxidant properties that improve health, boosts immunity and digestion.

Mix 15-30 ml of Giloy juice in a glass of water and consume it on an empty stomach in the morning.

Pumpkin seeds

Pumpkin seeds packed with zinc, iron, and vitamin E, pumpkin seeds are great for boosting the immune function and helps grow body cells. Known for their anti-fungal and anti-viral properties, pumpkin seeds are very popular in various Indian dishes and salads.
