Description

Eclipta prostrata commonly known as false daisy, yerba de tago, and bhringraj, is a species of plant in the sunflower family. It is widespread across much of the world.

Other common names include kehraj in Assamese and karisalaankanni in Tamil and kayyunni in Malayalam and in Marathi.In {Kannada} Garugada soppu, keshavardhini, Bhringaraja

This plant has cylindrical, grayish roots. The achenes are compressed and narrowly winged.

If you are planting purchased Bhringraj plant directly in ground follow the below procedure.
1. Keep the plant in indirect bright light for 3-4 days and gradually move to a location receiving direct sunlight for 4-6 hours a day.
2. Dig a pit twice the size of the bag/pot the current plant is in.
3. Fill the 1/3 of pit with soil rich in organic content, place the plant in the center and fill the pit with same soil.
4. Apply water General caring tips Plant should get more than 6 hours of sunlight a day. Water the plant when surface soil (1-2 inch) feels dry to touch. Apply any organic fertilizer during the main growing season.

How to use bhringraj plant for hair growth?

For hair growth you can use Bhrungraj plant oil. A quicker way of making Bhringraj oil at home is to heat powdered Bhringraj leaves with coconut oil and then store. The oil is dark green in color and has a unique, strong aroma. The best way to use it is to apply it directly on the scalp, let the roots absorb it for about 30 minutes and then wash off.
