Garcinia xanthochymus

A medium-sized, glabrous, deciduous tree with narrow crown reaching up to 15 m in height, with a short, straight trunk. Leaves are coriaceous, linear-oblong or oblong-lanceolate, shining. Flowers arise in leaf axils in groups. Flowers are white with 5 green sepals and 5 white petals.

Fruit Fruits are round, pointed, as large as a middle-sized apple, smooth, very short-pointed at the apex, deep yellow when ripe. The fruit is edible, it has a pleasant acid taste and is mainly used as a breakfast fruit. It is also used for jam, curries, and vinegar.
