Allamanda is a flowering plant belonging to the family of Apocynaceae. Some species of Allamanda plants are grown for their large, colourful flowers and ornamental purposes. This is the most common type of plant found in almost every garden.

Allamanda plants can be evergreen or shrubs. The flowers can be golden-yellow, cherry, white, and peach. It bears a trumpet-like flower, having five spreading petal lobes. Flowers that resemble 'bells' could be used to generate acoustic images in the garden!

The gorgeous Allamanda is enjoyed by all horticulturists and is grown as flowerbeds, ground covers, garden hedges, container plants, and climbing shrubs.

Moreover, they have a thick-foliage with a unique aroma. As they grow bushy, they may require regular pruning and repotting every year. These can produce via seeds and also propagate through stem segments.

The flowers of Allamanda plants have antibacterial properties and are used as antibiotics. The leaves have antibacterial substances that are capable of killing germs and bacteria that cause skin diseases. Although one should be careful about the dosage, some other benefits include treating malaria, welling the spleen, preventing jaundice, etc.

Allamanda plants are typically not house plants as they are tropical plants that need considerable warmth and moisture to grow well. Known as frost-tender plants, they usually are ornamental plants, and you can beautify the place by hanging them in a basket. They grow well in moist soils.

The beautiful fragrance and attractive flavors of Allamanda plants attract many insects, butterflies, and even hummingbirds. They contain a milky-sap or latex that is poisonous when chewed or eaten. It should be kept away from children and adults must instruct them not to touch them.

NurseryLive offers Allamanda plants in beautiful colors like peach, white, chocolate, cherry, and yellow. They can be harvested throughout the year but need a temperature of approximately 25 to 35 degrees Celsius and a right potting mix.
