Description

This perennial plant produces a rosette of basal leaves during the spring; these leaves reach their maximum size by early summer, and they wither away by the end of summer.

Guinea Henweed is a deeply rooted herbacious perennial shrub native to tropical areas of Africa, South and Central America and the Caribbean.

Planting and care

Start with pruning shears for smaller growth. Use loppers, which look like giant, long-handle shears, for growth that is more than half an inch thick. A small pruning saw is handy, as it cuts on both the push and the pull.
