Description
Roscoea purpurea is a perennial herbaceous plant. Its fleshy tuberous roots are used in the treatment of impotency and leucorrhoea.
It is a herbaceous perennial plant. The plant can grow to over, 50 cm tall. Roots are tuberous, thick & fleshy. Leaves are lanceolate & elongate. Flowers are few in a sessile spike borne in autumn and pale-lilac, purple or white in color. There is a tube-shaped outer calyx.
The three petals form a tube slightly longer than the calyx. The capsule is cylindrical and varies greatly in size.Plant Specifications
