Description
The whole plant is ascribed to possess medicinal virtues in Ayurvedic and Unani.
Indian Fumitory is an annual herb about 15 to 50 cm long. Rootstocks slender elongated taproot. Stem much branched, grooved, leafy, glaucous. Leaves many, lanceolate-oblong in outline. Inflorescence racemose, axillary or leaf-opposed. Flowers bisexual, zygomorphic, pale pinkish red tipped with dark blackish purple. Flower bloom from April to May.
Fruits indehiscent, single-seeded nutlet, subglobose obscurely keeled, with 2 apical pits, smooth, about 1 to 1.5 mm across. Seeds brown, non-arillate.Plant Specifications
