A beautiful tree from India with a spreading crown. It can grow up to 6 to 8 m tall, with a trunk girth of 2 m with smooth grey bark, leathery ovate leaves oblong and glossy. The male flowers are formed in 3 to 5 flowered cymes in leaf axils.
Female flowers are solitary, 4-parted, with 4 styles, and an 8-celled ovary. The fruit size is 4 to 6 cm, ripening orange to red, pulp edible and relished by wild animals and birds. The fruit is green, tinted red. The wood is hard and a very valuable timber.Plant Specifications
