Colchicum luteum

Yellow Colchicum is a perennial herb found in the Himalayas. Corms are ovoid, flattened at the base, with a longitudinal groove on one side. The coat is brown to dark-brown. Stamens are 6. Filaments are long, anthers are yellow, linear, 1 to 1.5 cm long.

The ovary is superior, Leaves are 3 to 6, appearing at the flowering time, linear to broadly linear. Fruit is capsular, ovoid, up to 3 cm long, seeds numerous, spherical.
