Description
Chasmanthera dependens is a climbing shrub producing stems 5 metres or more long. The stems are around 3cm in diameter.
Water deeply and regularly (mornings are best). Avoid overhead watering. Good air circulation promotes vigorous and healthy growth and helps control foliar diseases. Summer mulch helps retain moisture, keeps roots cool and discourages weeds. A popular traditional medicine, the plant is often harvested from the wild for local use.
It is also often planted in home gardens and is sold in local markets.Plant Specifications

Planting and care
plant care is not difficult but does require vigilance. The vines need to be trained early when they are young. You may use plant ties or just weave them through trellis sections. Fertilize the plant in spring just before new growth appea Pinch off the tips of the vines in the second year to promote branching which will fill the trellis with bushy growth.
