Thuja occidentalis is perennial evergreen plant in Cupressaceae family. It is a dense, conical to narrow pyramidal often single trunked, evergreen tree. The leaves are scale like and arranged in alternating decussate pairs in four rows along the twigs.

Planting and care

  • Avoid full shade where foliage density will substantially decrease.
  • Avoid exposed, windy sites.
  • It doesn, t require pruning as it naturally grows in the columnar shape.
  • If you are growing this for hedge prune regularly to maintain shape. It can tolerate excessive pruning without any problem.
