The vine that grew around your grandmother's kitchen was most likely a Hoya plant. Because of its thick waxy leaves, this tropical indoor plant is frequently called a "Wax plant,". Hoya plants are great for indoor collection.

Hoya Plants lives endlessly, grow to tremendous dimensions, and produces magnificent, porcelain-like scented flower clusters.

Because of the waxy sheen of their blossoms, many members of the houseplant community are only now discovering the pleasures of collecting and caring for them.

The fact that hoyas are reasonably easy to grow. They can be grown from cuttings is another reason for their popularity as a houseplant. To take root, most plants only require a node or two and a leaf. Some plants with the chlorophyll in their stems may just need a node to take root and thrive, rather than a leaf.

These plants flower as they achieve maturity. It's tough to predict when they'll flower. When will they be fully mature? It all depends on the current growing conditions! Keeping your plant root-bound (in a smaller-than-normal pot) is supposed to hasten to blossom. Down-potting, on the other hand, can cause your Hoya to get shocked. Which is a no-no in Hoya plant care.

Never, ever, ever, ever trim the long tendrils! These produce leaves and flower clusters. The Hoyas don't mind being a little rooted. Keep it in the same pot for years. But fertilise it regularly in the spring and summer. All Hoyas must be potted in drainage planters. Too much water is quite harmful to these plants.

So what are you waiting for ? Since you know almost all basics of growing a Hoya, we assume that it is the right time to have one too. Nurserylive’s collection of Hoya Plants is perfect because not only simple pots, you will also find Hoya planted in cute little pots and along with collections too.
