The color, the Fragrance, The Beauty of it all come together to form a harmony which makes us fall in love with them. They are used on various occasions be it as simple as visiting someone to a wedding.
Many of us dream of growing them in our houses but our Lifestyle is too tedious to allow us the luxury of Growing them.
However, where there is a will, there will always be away. Here are a few suggestions for those who want color in their homes but not the fuss that goes with them.
Portulaca:
Portulaca also known as Moss Rose, Portulaca is a sturdy plant that can grow in hard, rocky soil. They require warm sun and a less amount of water.
Their succulent leaves can store water thus allowing the flowers to retain their beauty for a longer duration of time.
Bougainvillea:
It is a common sight to see around cities where they are draped over buildings, gates, fences, and walls.
They come in a variety of colors like purple, white, orange, etc. and are very durable with being able to survive for days with minimal water.
Blanket Flower “Gaillardia”:
Blanket Flowers are Beautiful Flowers that can survive in Minimalistic Conditions Provided they are given plenty of suns and a little amount of water to feed on.
They are also called Fire wheel because of the flowers which are a vibrant shade of red and orange. They are easy to grow and attract a good number of butterflies for pollination.
Rock Soapwort:
This Plant was grown by early settlers and used as Soap & Detergent as well. It is easy to grow and is a self-sowing plant so it can be used as ground cover.
It can survive with less water and full sunlight and has flowers that range from Pale Pink to white.
Adenium:
More commonly known as the Desert Rose, this plant is one of the most popular plants to keep indoors as all that is required for it to grow I a good bit of sunlight and water once a week.
It can also be grown as a bonsai and has flowers that vary from pink to a pale pinkish white. Good well-draining soil is also a must for it to bloom.
Red Valerian:
The Red Valerian, also known as kiss-me-quick, is one of the most popular plants due to its flowers and has one of the longest blooming periods.
They flower in shades of Red, Pink, and White. It needs full sun and little water to grow and is used as a border plant (Grown over walls, fences, and gates)
Orange Daylily:
Also known as Tiger Daylily, this plant is persistent as it will grow where it is planted. It can be grown in hard soil and with minimum water.
It does require a Full Sun and is hardy. It is also called the ditch lily plant as it can persistently grow where it is dropped off.
