Warm tropical colours and exotic lobed leaves make it a beautiful addition to any brightly lit room.
It is hard not to notice this bushy, upright plant because of the vividly coloured foliage. The Croton house plant, has leaves splashed with green, orange and red with the veins often yellow, depending on the variety.
An evergreen shrub that is dense and compact when young. It can become more rounded and leggy when larger.The highly variable leaf colors are the strong point of the croton. Some cultivars are more green and yellow, while others can be brilliant mixes of reds, oranges, maroon, and yellows. Leaves are alternate to spiral in arrangement. Leaf shape is also highly variable with some cultivars being elliptical to oval and others being narrow and linear, while some are even corkscrew . As with many plants in the Euphorbia family, crotons have a very milky sap.

Planting and care
Crotons (Codiaeum variegatum) are tropical plants that grow outdoors and as house plants elsewhere. Growing to a height of 6 to 8 feet and width of 3 to 6 feet, crotons are attractive as a single plant or a grouping and grow well in pots or in the ground.
Their green leaves turn into shades of yellow, red and purple, showing their brightest colours in the sunlight. You can grow cultivars of crotons
