The genus Scrophularia of the family Scrophulariaceae comprises about 200 species of herbaceous flowering plants commonly known as figworts.
Common name(s): Scrophularia marilandica ,Knotted figwort, woodland figwort, rosenoble, throatwort, carpenters square, kernelwort, scrophula plant, escrophularia, knoldbrunro , Knotige Braunwurz , scrophulaire noueuse .

Planting and care
It is hardy to zone (UK) 7 and is not frost tender. It is in flower from Jun to September, and the seeds ripen from Jul to September. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Bees, wasps.Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils.
It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It prefers moist soil.

Soil: well-drained soil
Temperature: 55-65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Fertilizer: apply any organic fertilizer
