Soil: well-drained soil

Water: medium

Temprature: Summer

Fertilizer: Apply any organic fertilizer

  • Pour potting mix into a seed flat or other shallow container.
  • Pour room-temperature water over the potting mix to moisten the soil.
  • Sow the tulsi seeds 1/4-inch deep.
  • Place a plastic cover over the container or place the container in a large plastic bag and seal it.

  • Before winter, add 4 to 6 inches of mulch, simply to delay the ground freeze and allow the roots to keep growing.
  • Leave the mulch until spring once the last hard frost has passed.

Special Feature:
Leaves are either ovate or obovate. Leaves are generally 3-5 cm long and 2-4 cm wide with serrulate margins and a long stalk. Lower surface of the leaves bears hairs; petioles up to 3 cm long. Flowering starts at an early age of 2-3 months. It produces copious blue flowers in small cymes along branch that ends with reduced leaves
