Diffon Starbright - Plant
Description for Diffon Starbright
Dieffenbachias are easy houseplants that tolerate a wide range of conditions. The name Dumb Cane reflects the fact that the acrid sap will burn the mouth and numb the throat to the extent that it may even paralyze the vocal cords.
Its leaves are large, oblong, and cream or light yellow with deep green spots and stripes in bands along the veins and border. Like any other Dieffenbachia its sap is poisonous.
It can be propagated by a tip and nodal cuttings. It can attain a height of 6 feet in favorable condition. It likes high humidity and a draft-free atmosphere.

Caring for Diffon Starbright
- Insert supports no later than mid-spring or when the plants reach 12 inches high. Stake the low-growing perennials with Twiggy, brushwood support.
- The taller, large-flowered delphiniums need sturdy stakes.
- Soil should not dry out. Water plants during the summer if rainfall is less than 1 inch per week.
- It should not be placed in front of an air-conditioner unit or fan. VAfter watering its leaf becomes straight and brittle. So if transportation is required, stop watering for a few days, to prevent the leaves from breaking.
