Description for Lovage
Levisticum officinale is the scientific name of the Lovage. It is a tall perennial plant. Ternately compound, deeply divided, dark green leaves resemble flattened parsley or celery leaves. The flowers are produced in globose umbels. Life span of this plant may be up to 100 days.

Planting and care
Sow a few into a small pot filled with seed compost and cover with a thin layer of perlite. Sow seeds 5mm deep. Place in a warm climate to germinate. Germination takes 10-14 days. Keep soil moist until they are established. When seedlings are large enough, prick out into individual pots. Plant out well rooted plants into the garden in late spring or early summer. Plant the seedlings 24 to 36 inches apart, 3 to 5 feet between rows.
