Interesting fact: The most interesting feature of Mimosa pudica plant (sensitive plant) is its ability to fold the leaves when touched that is why it is called touch me not.
mimosa pudica is a tropical plant but in cold climate, you can grow it in the pot and keep it indoors in winter. The stem is erect, slender and branching. The leaves are bipinnate. This plant produces small, pink, powder-puff like flowers in the summer.
Planting and care
Touch me not plant is propagated by seeds and cuttings. Its an extremely easy plant to grow and germinates quickly. Seed sowing must be done when a temperature is warm. This plant prefers sun to light shade sites with well-draining and moderately fertile soil.
Caring for Mimosa Pudica
- Water a plant when the soil feels dry to touch. Water thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering for the winter & rainy season.
- Try to water the plants in the morning around 8-10am.
- You should remove dead, infected or damaged plant parts and throw in the garbage collector.
- You should prune and fertilize a plant mostly in the spring season.
