Description for Zephyranthes Candida (White)
Rain lily is a bulbous perennial that is native to the Rio de la Plata region of South America. In the wild, plants often burst into bloom immediately following periods of significant rain, hence the common name.
Crocus-like, white flowers, sometimes blushed with pink, bloom singly atop upright stems rising tall above a tuft of outward-spreading, narrow, grass-like, green leaves. Bloom appears in late summer to early fall.
Planting and care
A native of the warmer parts of America. Zephyranthes are hardy bulbs that range from 5 cm to 30 cm in height; this makes them great for use in rock gardens. They have grass like foliage and bloom from spring to autumn (species dependent). When in bloom, plants carry pink, red, white, or yellow funnel shaped flowers.
