About Pilea Artillery

Artillery plant Scientifically known as Pilea microphylla in the family of Urticaceae is an evergreen, ground-covering perennial plant forming a dense mat of growth around 30 cm up to 45 cm wide. Its succulent stems hold small, lime-green cluster leaves that are blotched with colours of white and pink.

Also known as the rockweed, the artillery plant is a fast-growing, adaptable evergreen that can be grows in humid locations, including in indoor containers and rock gardens.To encourage a compact, bushy plant, pinching off growing tips is important.

Light Requirement

  • At least 1-3 hours of preferably morning sunlight a day is ideal for plant to grow well and natural indirect bright light for the rest of the day.

  • Soil
  • The soil should be well drained and fertile, rich in organic content for growing Pilea Artillery plant.

  • Watering
  • Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture.
  • Apply 3 cup (Approx. 150 ml) water when top soil (1-2 inches) in pot feels dry to touch.
  • As rule of thumb, Water the plant thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in winter and rainy season.
  • Do not over-water the plant.
  • Apply water preferably in morning or evening.
