It is believed that aquatic plants are one of the best indicators of whether a lake or stream. In general there are three zones of aquatic plants. The first zone consists mainly of rooted plants with their tops extended to the surface air. The second zone is made up of rooted plants which shelter floating portions on the surface. The third zone lies in the deeper areas beyond the first two zones.

Aquatic plants and flowers give joy and pleasure as man beholds its beauty, variations of design, colors and shapes. Maintaining a pond or garden filled with different aquatic varieties and blooms are becoming popular. You can easily grow aquatic plants in your natural or artificial pond/lake as well as in small tub also.

Aquatic plants are usually called oxygenators. They obtain their nutrients from the water directly through their stems and leaves and do not require soil or special fertilizer. By absorbing nutrients, they compete with algae and help keep your water clear by consuming dissolved nutrients.
