This product does not have the flowers at the time of shipping. After 2-3 years, the plant will bloom and that will be of the orange-colored flower. Palash is a species of Butea monosperma and belongs to the Fabaceae family, native to tropical and sub-tropical parts of the Indian Subcontinent.

Palash plant grows as a medium-sized deciduous tree, and it is native to India. The tree grows up to 20 meters high and has a distinctive appearance due to its grey bark, irregular branches, and crooked trunk.
The tree doesn t flower until January, and even its leaves fall until then, from January to March, the tree is loaded with orange flowers, which also lend it the most famous name, The Tree of the Flame.
The flowers have five petals with a beak-shaped keel. The keel also earns it another colloquial name- parrot tree. Birds are the main pollinators of the flowe The flowers grow in clusters on leafless branches.

Sunlight

  • Morning sunlight of more than 6 hours a day is ideal for flowering and plant development.
  • Soil
  • The soil should be well drained, fertile and rich in organic content for growing Palash plant.
  • Watering
  • Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture.
  • Apply 4 cup (approx.200ml) of water when the top soil (1-2 inch) in the pot feels dry to touch.
  • Do not overwater the plant.
  • As a rule of thumb, water the plants thoroughly in summer and reduce watering in winter and rainy season.

    To plant Palash consider the following points.
