About Interesting Plants

There are an estimated 400,000 plant species growing on our planet, exhibiting a huge variety of colors and shapes. Some species have even evolved to look like an entirely different type of living creature altogether, whether as an adaptation these interesting plants provides an evolutionary advantage or just as a happy quirk of nature.

Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia) is a tropical evergreen that features colourful flowers reminiscent of tropical birds considered among the most interesting plant. The most interesting feature of Mimosa pudica plant (sensitive plant) is its ability to fold the leaves when touched that is why it is called touch me not.

Bhrama kamal is another interesting featured plant its leaves attached to each other and just put the one leaf in soil and you can get a new plant from it. Portulaca is also known as 9 O clock plant as it blooms approximately at 9 O clock in the morning in India, making it a very interesting plant.

The interesting thing about Krishna Kamal is that it is believed with reference of Hindu epic Mahabharata that there are about 100 of blue petals one for each of the Kauravas, 5 of the yellow ones in the center one for each of the Pandavas the green bulb in the center symbolizes Draupadi, the queen of Pandava.
