Dietes iridioides is the scientific name of this perennial shrub. The flowers may last only one day. Flowering occurs at 2-week intervals, hence the sometimes used common name of fortnight lily.
Planting and care
Prepare inches of soil layer and 2 inches of compost. Plough the rhizomes 2 inches deep. Keep the distance of 2 to 3 feet. Place the rooted part downside and tip upperside. Propagate by seed or division of the rhizome.
