Purple Flower Bulbs
About Purple Flower Bulbs
A bulb is structurally a short stem with fleshy leaves or leaf bases that function as food storage organs during dormancy. In gardening, plants with other kinds of storage organ are also called ornamental bulbous plants or just bulbs. The primary function of these underground storage structures is to store nutrient reserves to ensure the plants' survival.
Purple is the most popular requested flower color for use in gardens and with its calming effect, it's no wonder. In Feng Shui, purple denotes nobility, abundance and dignity, and has been used throughout history by dignitaries and rulers, from Roman emperors to modern European kings and queens.
Yellow is the ideal partner of purple which brightens a scene together. Purple and yellow announce spring's arrival in the blooms of bulbs. Yellow helps to solidify purple, whereas purple subdues yellow. This relationship of contrasts becomes more important in shade gardens. White also stabilizes purple in shade gardens.
