Hypericum perforatum, known as perforate St John s wort, common Saint John s wort and St John s wort, is a flowering plant in the family Hypericaceae. The common name St John s wort may be used to refer to any species of the genus Hypericum.

Growing St. Johnâ€™s wort herb in a location with too much sun can lead to leaf scorch, while too much shade reduces the number of flowers. The best location is one with bright morning sunlight and a little shade in the hottest part of the afternoon.
