Description for Kagzi Nimboo, Kagzi Lemon

Plant height: 15 - 23 inches (38 - 59 cm)
Plant spread: 4 - 8 inches (10 - 21 cm)

Lime is popular for its beautiful appearance and pleasing flavour and for its excellent food qualities. Lime does not edible in the same manner as the other Citrus species.

Planting and care

Pits of 60 x 60 x 60 cm. dug & filled with 25 kg FYM + 1.5 kg SSP + 2 kg castor cake +50 g BHC + soil. Planting should be done at the spacing of 6 x 6 m. in monsoon.

Soil: Medium black, loamy or alluvial well-drained soil
Water: Medium
Temperature: 25 to 35 degree C
Fertilizer: Apply any organic fertilizer

Caring for Kagzi Nimboo

  • Citrus can grow well in wide range of soils. Soil properties like soil reaction, soil fertility, drainage, free lime and salt concentrations, etc. are some important factors that determine the success of citrus plantation.
  • Weeding & hand digging.
  • Protection against winds & frost.
  • Avoid pruning at the time of bearing trees.

Typical uses of Kagzi Nimboo

Special features: Lime is a good source of Vitamin- C (62.9 mg/100 ml), Vitamin- B1, Vitamin- B2 and minerals like Calcium (90 mg /100 ml), Phosphorus (20 mg/100 ml) and Iron (0.3 mg/100 ml).

Culinary use: Kagzi lemon use for fresh fruit as well as pickle purpose. It's also useful for making juice, RTS, Squash.

Ornamental use: The plant is used for ornamental purpose.

Medicinal use: Kagzi lemon is rich in vitamin C, minerals and salts.

Bit price is high but it s amazing plant, sun is not required only lighting is enough at any conditions even room light is enough for this plant.
