Ardisia crenata is a species of flowering plant in the primrose family, Primulaceae, that is native to East Asia.

Bloom time: May to June
Height: 4.00 to 5.00 feet
Difficulty level: easy to grow

Planting & Care
Both can survive in temperate climates if they are planted in a sheltered area. Arabian is a small bush with evergreen leaves. There are many other varieties of plant, of which are best suited for sub-tropical climates. Learning how to grow will add a striking visual and olfactory touch to the garden.

Care:
  • Do not prune plants in the fall.
  • Simply cut off any dead or diseased canes.
  • Stop fertilizing 6 weeks before the first frost but continue watering during dry autumn weather to help keep plants fortified during the dry winter.
  • Mound, mulch, or add compost after a few frosts but before the ground freezes.


Special Feature:
Group in shrub borders, shade gardens or woodland areas. Also effective in naturalized areas where possible colonial spread is not a concern. May be grown as a houseplant in containers that are overwintered indoors.
